Artist Statement.

Eclectic Style confronts the tensions between a consumer, throwaway society, and traditional craft. Her embroidered works envision future scenes where she repurposes cherished items into custom crafts. This composition, completed on a beautiful piece of china collected from her grandmother, involves the blend of vibrant colors and intricate forms to create a meaningful vision, where nature and artifice converge, alluding to both the beauty and fragility of a world in constant flux.

Coming from the fashion world with her own label, Divine Deluxe, she designed and made clothing using amazing fabrics, fine tailoring, and stunning corsetry. She went on to work in New York as a makeup artist in film and photographic arts and delved into the art world there. Her work has appeared in recent exhibitions at the Naarm Textile Collective and Embroider Guild of Victoria. She collects beautiful vintage objects to use in her work with an Australian Heritage background. History is a large part of her oeuvre. And how the world is such a throwaway society, she wants to keep history alive. Obsessed with color and fabrics, she employs hand embroidery to transform collected objects that were once loved into loved-again visual masterpieces.
